Running since 1987. No EDM, no Instagram mirrors, no protein shake bar. Shyam's is the place serious lifters in Ahmedabad eventually find — a basement full of iron that has been moved by people who knew what they were doing. The legacy equipment is better maintained than most gyms' new gear.
Shyam Prajapati opened this place with six barbells and a bench. He now has four benches, an Olympic platform, and a collection of free weights that would make most commercial gyms jealous. He is present every morning at 5:30am and leaves at 9pm. This is his life's work.
Monthly membership: ₹1,200. If you're a student, ₹900. There is no contract. The clientele are mostly serious — serious enough that the atmosphere during peak hours has a focus that is almost meditative.
